Mark your calendars

A few October events (not counting Halloween, of course) that you'll want to know about:

Wednesday, October 10th is the release date for Graveslinger #1, the new Weird Western comic I wrote with Shannon Eric Denton, with art by John Cboins.  It’s the first of a four-issue miniseries about prison undertaker Frank Timmons, who accidentally releases 117 executed murderers from Hell, and has to send them back.  It’s published by Image Comics/Shadowline, and should be available at any comic book store—and if it’s not in stock, they can order it for you!

Here's an article about my long, sordid history with Weird Western comics--check it out!

Friday, October 19th is the release date for the movie 30 Days of Night, based on the comic book series created by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith.  With Steve, I’ve written two 30 Days of Night novels, Rumors of the Undead and Immortal Remains.  We’re working on the third one right now.

That night, I’m appearing at The Box, the movie theater in Douglas, Arizona, for the movie’s premiere.  I’ll be there at 6:30 to sign books (both 30 Days of Night novels will be on hand, as well as Missing White Girl and some other goodies) before the 7:00 pm showing.  I’ll then be inside watching the movie, but will stick around after to sign anything else, and talk vampires with anyone who’s interested.

The next day, Saturday, October 20th, at 3:00 pm, I’ll be at Samurai Comics in Phoenix with Shannon Eric Denton to sign Graveslinger #1 (and other assorted items, including the books mentioned above).  It’s Samurai’s big horror celebration in honor of Halloween and 30 Days of Night, so if you love horror and you’re in the greater Phoenix area, you’ll want to be there.  Samurai is on 7th Street, near Camelback.

I hope to see you at one of these events!

Hey, what a great article! You rock, Jeff! Both of you!

yes, that's right, i've decided to self-promote....sigh

Sadly, it's usually the only way to get any promotion at all...

Wish I could be there. I just passed through AZ on my way back from Texas but I took the 40.. and I think your further south.. otherwise I would have tried to stop by. To bad I didn't have the time. Don't forget, Comic Oasis here in Vegas is awesome, and the owner Derek is great!

Yeah, we're way south of the 40. The only thing farther south than us is Mexico!

HAHAH! Yeah that is what I though when looking at the map..
